The Bibliography of British and Irish History provides bibliographic data on historical writing dealing with the British Isles, and with the British Empire and Commonwealth, during all periods for which written documentation is available – from 55BC to the present. It is the successor to the Royal Historical Society Bibliography of British and Irish History, available online from 2002 to 2009.

As well as providing details of publications, the Bibliography provides links to online catalogues to help you find the items that it lists in research libraries in Britain, Ireland and the USA, and it provides links to online text where available (you or your institution may need an appropriate subscription to take advantage of some of these links).

The Bibliography is a guide to the work of historians – it does not contain original sources, unless they have been edited and republished by historians (except for a selection of key sources published before 1901 derived from the printed bibliographies published for the Royal Historical Society and the American Historical Association by Oxford University Press).

Persée is a program which was created for the digital publication of scientific journals in the field of the humanities. The entire printed collection of journals is digitized and published online through a portal which offers access to the collections as well as advanced functionalities which facilitate and enhance use of the portal’s resources. The journals are selected by an editorial board, thereby guaranteeing the collection’s scientific coherence.

The main goal of the Persée project is to widely disseminate the scientific output of French language specialists in the humanities on the internet. Considered part of France’s heritage, the collections are at the disposal of all, without charge, in an optic of free and non exclusive access and dissemination.

The publisher or journal distributor may choose to determine a recent time span, between 2 and 5 years, during which the issues will not be freely available on the internet. This moving barrier is a means for guaranteeing the commercialization of current production, whether in “paper” or electronic form.

The AIAA electronic library contains more than four decades of technical information and documents online.

About GFS Online

The Statistics Department of the International Monetary Fund has  made available to subscribers the Government Finance Statistics (GFS) database through an online service. GFS Online contains annual statistical data on revenue, expense, transactions in assets and liabilities, and stocks of assets and liabilities of general government and its subsectors as reported by member countries. Subannual GFS are available through the online application relating to International Financial Statistics (IFS).

System Overview

The GFS Online system is based on the GFS CD-ROM Browser product, which contains time series data from 1990, and many of the functions are quite similar. GFS Online provides the same data coverage as the GFS Browser product. The data are presented in the world and country tables for all reporting countries in the framework of the Government Finance Statistics Manual 2001 (GFSM 2001).

The Country Table and Economic Concept Views provide access to similar concepts across countries while the Matrix View is available for enhanced data analysis.

Capabilities of GFS Online

The Web interface allows subscribers to browse the database, select series of interest, display the selected series in a spreadsheet format, and save the selected series for transfer to other software systems such as Microsoft Excel^®.

GFS Online includes the following capabilities:

• browsing the directory tree,
• drilling down through the structure of the database,
• selecting either individual time series or groupings of time series within a table presentation,
• saving selected data and metadata in a variety of formats, including a spreadsheet, and
• saving and loading a query of selected time series.

The Statistics Department envisages that this product will be further developed and enhanced over time, and will be updated on a more frequent basis.

HeinOnline’s digital Session Laws collection contains the session laws of all 50 U.S. States (as well as the Acts of the Parliament of Canada) from approximately 1995 to present. Future releases in HeinOnline will include new session laws as published as well as expanded coverage of historical session laws prior to 1995.
